The President of the Sierra Leone Cricket Association (SLCA)Beresford Bournce Coker has disclosed to Awoko sports that 2009 was a very good year for cricket as all the competitions that they took part in was a success.
And we were able to qualify for the global tournament, but the boys were unable to participate because no visa granted. He also stated that last year they were also given five medals to some people that ICC recognized for their services to the association.
Coker also mentioned that before the start of the this year’s cricket league season they gave certificates to some of the outstanding players in the previous league that was won by Police Cricket team who also received a cash prize.
He averred that they have started this year in a very good footing as they have started the national league that is ongoing and will be used to assess the players that will be invited to the national team to represent the country this year in all international competitions.
